Spanish Rice Recipe

Learn how to make Spanish Rice just like the kind you eat in restaurants. This rice is loved by many and it adds authenticity to your Spanish dinner. It is a great side dish that is not only easy to make but very budget- friendly.

2 tablespoons oil
2 tablespoons of butter
2 cups rice
3 cups water
1 cup plain tomato sauce
1.5 teaspoons salt


In a medium sauce pan, heat oil over medium heat. Add in the butter and dry rice and cook for about 2 minutes or until rice becomes translucent color.  

 In a separate saucepan heat water, salt and tomato sauce and bring to a boil (this is a very important step). Add liquid to the rice, stir it up, turn heat to low and cover. Let it simmer for 20 minutes and fluff with a fork (do not remove lid during the 20 minutes the rice is cooking).

Serve to accompany tacos, re-fried beans, burritos, cheese enchiladas, carne asada,
