Easy Soda Bread Recipe - for St. Patrick's Day

This is a delicious bread to bake for Saint Patrick's Day. Soda bread is extremely easy to prepare, and everyone will enjoy it. It could be made with dried cranberries, raisins or plain.
Tip: after is out of the oven, let it rest before served. This is one bread you would like to make ahead of time. 

3 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
3/4 cup white sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 eggs, lightly beaten
2 cups buttermilk
1/4 cup butter, melted
1 cup of raisins

1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Grease (2) 8X4 loaf pans. 2. Combine flour, baking powder, sugar, salt and baking soda. Mix together egg and buttermilk, and add to the dry ingredients. Mix just until moistened. Stir in butter and raisins. Pour into prepared pans. 3. Bake for an hour, or until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack.
