MoJiTos

Mojitos are very easy to prepare and they are a tasty beverage that can be enjoyed with or without alcohol. This drink is created with limes, mint leaves and a touch of sweetener. Basically, you are making mint-infused limeade sweetened with “simple syrup”. Simple syrup combines one part sugar with one part water and then it is heated until the sugar is dissolved.  Let the syrup cool before using.  It can be kept refrigerated for days.

Directions:
Crush a few mint leaves with granulated sugar at the bottom of your glass, add lime juice, simple syrup and top with sparkling water and crushed ice.

Mojitos are normally made with a splash of rum.  Barenjager (a honey liqueur), also works well with Mojitos. The hint of honey is always delightful and different. It is always good to have choices to offer your friends when having a get together. As a host, this drink will allow you to please several different tastebuds.

I could totally go for one of those right about now...

I'm not sure why, but I got into Mojitos a few years ago. I was mocked jokingly by friends for ordering them, but they are wonderfully refreshing.

I've got to see if I can find some Barenjager in my area. It sounds delicious...
